Clements Tennis has a long history of success on the court. The program dates back to 1983 in which John Furlow took over the then brand new Clements High School. In 1985 the tennis program captured its first District Title and thus going onto a record breaking 35 district titles since then the most in Texas High School tennis history. The program has also produced a number of players that have gone on to play tennis at the collegiate level at some of the nations top universities. In 2022 the team was awarded the prestigious USTA Texas Team Sportsmanship Award.
The team has not only found success on the court but also in the classroom often having the highest team GPA on campus and earning TTCA All- State Academic Honors. 2019- 93.9% Team GPA 2020- 93.6% Team GPA 2021- 95.2% Team GPA 2022- 95.3 % Team GPA 2023- 94.6 % Team GPA |
